Christian Behrens, Tahoma

Year: 2011
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 180lbs
Position: Forward
High School: Tahoma
AAU Team: Seattle Rotary
Status: Uncommitted

Strengths:
After coming off of an ACL injury last season, Behrens has worked hard rehabbing and looked close to 100% when I watched him play. He is a tall, thin, with long arms. Behrens is an unselfish player. Although he knows he was the best player on the court, he was willing to make the extra pass for his teammates, leading his team in assists. It is not so much that he is an amazing passer, but he is always able to find the open man when the opposing defense was keyed in on him. Behrens is not a knock-out scorer, he rarely took a jump shot and most of his points came in the paint. He is at his best when he is facing the basket, with good touch in the paint. He dominates offensively because of his size and length.

Weaknesses:
It does not look like he has regained all of his explosiveness since the knee injury. The timing seemed a little bit off on most of his basket cuts and getting to his spots on offense. He is not a high intensity player, he lets most of the game come to him. Behrens does not have a killer scoring mentality and is not aggressive in attacking the basket. His lateral quickness is lacking, but he is still able to get his long arms in the passing lane and has the ability to be a good shot-blocker. His defense is not fundamentally sound, not disciplined enough defensively. He needs to demand the ball more, because he is great at scoring facing the basket, but could have more opportunities

Evaluated: Tahoma vs. White River 12/22/10
